If a child has Asperger's, they may not like to be touched which can be apparent to the parents starting at a young age. This symptom can be unpsetting for the parents, especially for those that aren't familiar with Asperger's symptoms. The dislike of being touched is typical of all forms of autism, so while Aspergers is a high functioning type of autism, children may still have difficulty with typical human touch. Some children with Asperger's won't shun touch but may touch others in ways that seem strange. They may also stand closer or further away from others than is normal because their sense of personal space is different. Taking each case individually is important because each person will display different symptoms which can vary a lot.
